A Home Run Event for Scottsdale
The BLW Western Wiffle Ball Classic will take place on Saturday, October 25th at the iconic Scottsdale Stadium, home of the San Francisco Giants’ spring training facility. Gates open at 8:30 a.m., and first pitch is at 9:00 a.m. Teams can register in either the competitive or recreational division, guaranteeing three pool play games before the top performers battle it out in the evening’s single-elimination bracket. Whether you’re there to compete, cheer, or just soak up the atmosphere, this is one of Scottsdale’s most entertaining sporting events of the year.
From Backyard to Big League
What started as a local passion project during the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic has evolved into something truly remarkable. Big League Wiffle Ball (BLW) was established in 2019 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and kicked off its first official season with just four teams. By the following fall, BLW announced the first-ever Western Wiffle Ball Classic, attracting players and fans from across the nation. Over 100 teams have since participated, helping turn BLW into the premier name in professional wiffle ball.
The league’s momentum didn’t stop there. In 2021, BLW expanded to six teams and began building an enormous online following—today boasting over 90,000 followers across social media platforms. In 2024, the organization launched the Big League Wiffle Ball Series, a 10-team league that traveled the country with stops in major cities like Scottsdale, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Dallas. The final showdown, fittingly, took place at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Now, BLW has officially established America’s first professional wiffle ball league, complete with notable owners including Dude Perfect, Kevin Costner, Gary Vaynerchuk, David Adelman, Marc Lasry, and David Blitzer. This new era of BLW will see teams traveling nationwide from October through March, bringing wiffle ball into the mainstream spotlight—and Lifted Trucks is thrilled to be part of that journey.
